Why do I need a marketing plan?

Creating a marketing plan, will enable you to have your ideas and strategies down on paper.  It formalizes the process of getting organized and getting things done.  In order to plan ahead and reach set goals, we put steps in place to help keep you on track.  Progress is then monitored routinely to enable you to reassess activities and strategies, to achieve your big picture goals.

What does a marketing plan include?

It can include a small or wide variety of marketing activities, created specifically for your business  E.g Consultancy, Strategy development, Market research, Competitor Analysis, Product or Business launch, Branding, E-Newsletters, E-Magazines, Web design, Professional Photography & Editing, copywriting, Event management, tender or grant submissions…. amongst many others.

Depending on the product or business, we work with you to review your past marketing activities, and develop strategies to help you increase opportunities to reach your key targets.

What is a typical time commitment for a project?

It will all depend on your requirements.  E.g. a startup company recently chose to include 10 hours per week over 40 weeks of the year to suit their marketing activities and budget.

Approximately 20% of time was spent on site with the customer and 80%  spent behind the scenes (i.e. working with web designers, copywriting, editing, working with printers etc).  A fortnightly meeting and a Month In Progress (MIP) report was sent regularly to help the keep the business on track and to up to date everyone with all activities.

What are the advantages of having a Professional Marketing Manager on a retainer?

What if I have additional projects I’d like to add throughout the year?

We understand the need for flexibility, and urgency to meet deadlines. If more time is required for your projects, we can simply change your package to cover the additional hours incurred.  

What does it cost?

Each marketing plan or requirement is unique and is designed specifically for the company or project in mind.  We work with you to decide on the best marketing activities to include in your marketing plan and then help you to get organized and to implement them.  There are two payment options available:  Hourly rate or blocks of 20 hours.

Example 1: Startup company branding and marketing plan development i.e. 10hrs/week ongoing for  12 months.

  • Photography* – Headshots, product shots, Interiors & Exteriors
  • Website design* – starting at $5000

Special projects  (customized for your business, hourly rate ($120/hr) or  20 hour blocks available $100/hr)

Example 2: Special Project – New Product launch

  • Copywriting and proofing content for website
  • 5 x Social Media blog posts written
  • 3 x Social media/website video’s created
  • Facebook advertisements created (additional Facebook advertising fee’s applied)
  • Photography* – studio product photography and environmental photography (i.e. hospital setting).
  • Digital retouching

What if I want to keep my marketing manager?

We are of course flattered when our clients want to keep working with us! After the initial 12 month period, it will give us a chance to review all the results we’ve achieved together.  By renewing the Cumulus Marketing agreement, we will be able to build on your initial success and plan for new goals and activities into the following year to help you achieve new heights.
